The Coronavirus of the Chinese Communist Party: a version of research done online. By Rodrigo Da Silva

The Coronavirus of the Chinese Communist Party: a version of research done online.  By Rodrigo Da Silva

The blame for the Coronavirus pandemic in the world has a name and a surname.  It's from the Chinese Communist Party. And if you still have any doubts about it, you need to read this whole text:

 1. According to Chinese officials, the first case of COVID-19 happened on 11/19/19 and the first individual to test positive for the disease had symptoms on 8/12/19.  According to The Lancet, patient zero was exposed to the virus on 12/1/19.

 2. The lack of sanitary conditions in a wild animal market in Wuhan, common practice in a country that does not offer food security, was fundamental to the outbreak.  Only after SARS-CoV-2, late, did the Chinese government promise to end the practice.

 3. An article published in 2007 by doctors in Hong Kong already warned that there was a reservoir of coronavirus in bats and that the southern Chinese habit of "eating exotic mammals" was a "time bomb".  But this bomb is not limited to health surveillance.

 4. China is a dictatorship without freedom of expression, press, politics and religion, with opponents and human rights activists repeatedly arrested, tortured and sentenced to re-education camps.  It was in this country that SARS-CoV-2 spread.

 5. In 2002, information about another coronavirus, the SARS-CoV, was suppressed by the Chinese dictatorship, condemning hundreds of people to death.  Late, the Communist Party admitted the mistakes and dismissed the Minister of Health and the Mayor of Beijing.

 6. As the concern of dictatorships is with the stability of the regime, and not with the well-being of the population, without facing great resistance, the Chinese government had with SARS-CoV-2 the same incentives to again neglect a coronavirus pandemic  .

 7. On December 30, 2019, when COVID-19 sickened 7 patients in a hospital in Wuhan and a doctor, Li Wenliang, tried to warn other doctors, Chinese police forced him to sign a statement that his warning constituted "  illegal behavior ".

 8. Li Wenliang and seven other doctors from Wuhan were forced to sign a document admitting to "spreading lies".  Isolated in the treatment of his patients, without official support, Li ended up contracting coronavirus and dying, at the age of 34.

 9. Between early December and January 19, the Chinese Communist Party played down the outbreak to a local problem, limited to a small number of customers in a Wuhan market.  Whatever the cause of the disease, "it was nothing like SARS".

 10. Still on December 26, a lab technician hired by hospitals said his company received samples from Wuhan and came to an impressive conclusion: the samples contained a new coronavirus with an 87% similarity to SARS.

 11. On December 24, a sample of SARS-CoV-2 taken from a patient was sent to a laboratory for genome sequencing.  The results were ready 3 days later, but the Hubei authorities ordered the samples to be destroyed.

 12. In January, the police still controlled the information, treating the coronavirus as a rumor.  In Wuhan, this was the official speech: "The police call on all Internet users not to make rumors, not to spread rumors, not to believe rumors".

 13. It is worth remembering that the Chinese Communist Party promotes the greatest act of restriction on freedom of expression in history.  50,000 censors participate in the process of controlling the internet in the country, known as the Great Firewall of China.

 14. In China, services such as Gmail, Google, Facebook, Youtube, Wikipedia, Reddit, Instagram, Twitter and WhatsApp are officially prohibited.  As the government monitors permitted applications, it controls all online content and information traffic.

 15. The Communist Party also controls all newspaper offices in the country.  According to Reporters Without Borders, in 180 countries listed, China is 177th in freedom of the press.  There is no access in the country to BBC, NYT, The Guardian, WSJ, Reuters, TIME, NBC ...

 16. Controlling the internet and the press, the Chinese Communist Party had no difficulty in disrupting the population's flow of information about the coronavirus, actively collaborating to make the outbreak a pandemic.

 17. Li Wenliang, the medical whistleblower at the beginning of this text, was not released from prison until January 3, 2020, after he signed a document assuming the practice of "illegal acts".  Li told CNN that his family would worry if he lost his freedom.

 18. Another doctor, Wang Guangbao, later admitted that speculation about a SARS-like virus was strong in medical circles in early January, but that the arrests deterred many, including himself, from speaking openly about it.

 19. In February, two Chinese journalists, Fang Bin and Chen Qiushi, disappeared after working on coverage of the coronavirus in Wuhan and denouncing government information suppressions.  Qiushi topped the list for the One Free Press Coalition.

 20. China only declared an emergency on January 20, 2020. When Wuhan was isolated three days later it was already too late: the virus was spreading across the country, carried by the 400 million Chinese who were preparing to travel to celebrate the New Year  Lunar.

 21. For almost 2 months, while the virus was spreading, the Chinese Communist Party imprisoned and intimidated doctors and journalists, controlled the flow of information, minimized the risks of the outbreak, did not expand ICU beds, or fought wild markets.

 22. Xi Jinping, president of China, publicly commented for the first time on SARS-CoV-2 only on 1/20/20, but as early as 7/1, 13 days earlier, during a party meeting, he admitted  , in an internal speech, knowledge of "the new coronavirus".

 23. In those 13 days, while denying the outbreak, the Communist Party organized two large meetings in Hubei and brought together more than 40,000 families at a mass banquet in Wuhan, in an attempt to beat a world record.  Xi Jinping could have prevented the pandemic.

 24. Only on February 4, as with SARS in 2002, did the Chinese Communist Party acknowledge the “deficiencies and difficulties in responding to the epidemic”, and promised to “improve our skills in dealing with urgent and dangerous tasks”.

 25. Even two months after the outbreak began, after WHO repeatedly asked the Chinese authorities for data on the health of medical professionals in Wuhan, the Chinese government still struggled to be transparent with the international community.

Repeating the mess of the Soviet Politburo in the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear accident, the Chinese Communist Party is largely responsible for neglecting an then local outbreak, repeatedly ignored by the authorities, turning the new coronavirus into a global pandemic.
